A Place To Begin

Does This Sound Like Your Child?

Sometimes kids and teens don't have the words to explain what's going on, but it shows up in other ways: big emotions, shutdowns, anxiety about school, or sudden changes in mood can be signs they need more support than they currently have.

At (Re)Connect in Towson, MD, we provide therapy for kids and teens that goes beyond just talking. Using skills-based approaches like CBT and DBT, we help young people learn how to understand their emotions, manage stress, and respond to challenges in healthier, more effective ways, whether they're at home, at school, or with peers.

A Guide To Begin

How to Know If Therapy Could Help Your Child or Teen

Tap anything that feels familiar.

  • This is one of the most common reasons families first reach out.

  • School-related worry tends to ease once kids have real coping tools.

  • Social skills can be practiced and built, just like any other skill.

  • Reconnecting starts with feeling safe enough to open up again.

  • Big reactions often ease once kids have better ways to regulate.

  • Shifting these patterns is very possible with the right support.

These behaviors are often a sign that your child hasn't yet had the tools they need, not that something is wrong with them. Therapy helps them build those tools in a way that's supportive and empowering.
