Is Your Child Carrying More Than They Can Say?
Depression in kids and teens can look like sadness, irritability, pulling away from friends, losing interest in favorite activities, or a drop in energy that seems to come out of nowhere. Many young people cannot explain what they are feeling, so it often shows up in behavior first.
At (Re)Connect in Towson, MD, we provide depression therapy for kids and teens that goes beyond talking about feelings. Using skills-based approaches like CBT and DBT, we help young people understand what is weighing on them and build tools for the harder days, at home and beyond.

Why Private Pay?
Why We Don't Take Insurance
Insurance companies can dictate how many sessions you're approved for, and sometimes which providers you're allowed to see. Working outside of insurance means it's you and your therapist deciding what your care looks like, for as long as you need it.
Because we're not billing insurance directly, the details of what you're working through in session aren't routinely shared with a third party. If you'd like to submit for reimbursement, we'll only include what's needed for a superbill.
Insurance-based care is often built around short-term, symptom-focused treatment. Working privately gives us the flexibility to go at the pace that's right for you, whether that's a few months or longer-term support.
Being an out-of-network practice lets our therapists spend their time and attention on client care rather than insurance paperwork and pre-authorizations.
Can I still use my insurance?
Yes. We're an out-of-network provider, and you can use your insurance if your plan includes out-of-network coverage (most PPOs do). We'll provide you with a monthly superbill you can send to your insurance company for reimbursement. Many of our clients receive at least 50% back from their insurance companies.

Sessions are age-appropriate and collaborative. Your child learns to recognize how mood, thoughts, and behavior affect each other, then practices coping skills and small steps toward feeling better with their therapist.
If your child is in immediate danger, call 911. You can also call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, at any time. Our office is not an emergency service, so please use these resources first and then reach out to us about next steps.
